How to: Live Stream Setup

How to: Live Stream Setup

Overview

This article will go through the process of streaming directly to the evexus platform. This article will cover the technical aspects of setup, and where to find key information you need for streaming.

Pre-requisites

The following is needed for a straight-to-platform event with evexus:

  • The ability to stream a complete production to a provided RTMP address, with all audio, video and graphics mixed and streamed by you. This is usually done by a third-party production company that you have engaged for your event, or this can be organised with evexus' in-house production team. Please reach out to your customer success executive if you require the later

  • You will also require to read through and understand an additional article: Understanding RTMP: Streaming to the Platform as a Third Party

Things to note

Live streaming on evexus is included part of your subscription package. However if you wish to store any live streams as recordings in evexus then there is an additional module you need to enable, at a charge to you.

If you would like to store any live streams, navigate to your plan and enable the 'on-demand content hosting' module.

Prior to your need of live streaming, please notify your customer success executive - they will need to enable an IVS channel creation in the backend.

Instructions

Ensure you toggle the 'Full' mode in the top right corner. This is crucial for all the required information to be shown to help you setup live streaming.
  1. Setup your days - this will allow you to assign sessions to days.
  2. Setup your rooms - allocate sessions to rooms.
    1. Ensure you enable 'evexus operated'
    2. Ensure you select 'Streamed/In-Person Room' in the 'Room Configuration'.
  3. Setup your sessions - allocate your sessions to rooms.
The above steps are paramount for the next step to work.

Please wait 30 minutes before moving to the next section - in the backend evexus is working with AWS to create a RTMP feed link for you.

Exit the Event Website module, and access the Live Streaming module

  1. If the above setup has been done correctly your upcoming session will populate here. If you cannot see your session please contact your evexus customer success executive.
  2. Click the actions button on the right and then 'edit'
  3. From here you are able to edit any stream info names and descriptions.
