How To: CPD

How To: CPD

Overview

CPD stands for 'continuing professional development'.

Setting up CPD on the platform allows delegates to earn points by watching livestreams or VOD (video on demand) content (only).

CPD calculations can be as complex or simple as required with session surveys, content thresholds and delegate type specific calculations all optional.

Multiple CPD calculations can be created for the event each with its own calculation and eligibility rules.

Task

Set up and manage CPD.

Pre-requisites

Instructions

Set up CPD:

  1. Within the Admin Tools Dashboard, navigate to the “Engagement” module then "Accrediatation" via the charcoal navigational bar on the left-hand side of the platform.

  2. Click 'Create Accrediation'.

    • Within the 'Name' field, enter what you would like to call the CPD.

    • Within the 'Start Date' and 'Start Time' fields, input the date and time you would like the CPD eligibility period to commence.

    • Within the 'End Date' and 'End Time' fields, input the date and time you would like the CPD eligibility period to conclude.

    • Within the 'Metric Label' field, enter the label you would like to display on reports and the certificate i.e units, points, hours.

    • Within the 'Units Per Hour' field, enter the number of units the delegate will earn per hour of content watched.
For example, if you input '60', delegates would earn 1 unit per minute (60 units divided by 60 minutes = 1 unit per minute).
As another example, if you input '15', delegates would earn 0.25 units per minute (15 units divided by 60 minutes = 0.25 units per minute).

    • Within the 'Threshold' field, enter the minimum percentage of content a delegate needs to watch to earn the units as a percent (minimum 10%, maximum 99%). If for example you input '50', and the duration of a piece of content was 10 minutes, a delegate would need to watch at least 5 minutes of the content to start earning.

    • Under 'Survey', you can choose to Enable or Disable this feature. If Enabled, delegates must complete the applicable Session Survey to earn CPD units.

    • Under ‘Assessment Pass’ you can choose Yes or No. If ‘Yes’ is selected, delegates must pass the session assessment to earn CPD units. When disabled, assessments are ignored when calculating CPD units.

    • Under 'Choose delegate Types', select the delegate Types this CPD is applicable to.

    • Under 'Enabled', select Enable or Disable to turn on or off this CPD.

    • Under 'Certificate', within the 'Certificate' field, input the copy you'd like to appear on the CPD Certificate. Be wary of making it too long, so that it doesn't make the Certificate more than one page.

    • Under 'Units Breakdown', choose Enable or Disable. When Enabled, delegates will receive an additional email attachment containing a breakdown of their CPD units.

    • You can also upload a Custom CPD Certificate file.

  3. Click 'Submit'.

Allow delegates to generate their own Certificates:

  1. Within the Admin Tools Dashboard, navigate to the “Marketing” module and then ‘Notifications’ via the charcoal navigational bar on the left-hand side of the platform.

  2. Click the ‘Trigger Notifications’ tab on top of the screen.

  3. Scroll down to 'Your CPD Certificate'/'cpd_certificate' and click the blue pencil to the far-right.

  4. Under 'Send Email', select 'Enabled'.

  5. Scroll down and click 'Submit'.

How delegates can check their CPD and generate a Certificate:

  1. From the Home Page of the platform, direct a delegate to click 'My Account' in the top-right hand corner.

  2. Then click 'My Dashboard'.

  3. Then on the black navigational bar on the left-hand side, navigate to 'My CPD'.

  4. This is the evexus' CPD Dashboard. The delegate will have the option to navigate between what CPD they're apart of if more than one, 'Email Certificate' or 'Download Certificate', as well as view the Units they've earned and Minutes they've watched:

Notes

  • To ensure the Platform is tracking the Users viewing minutes, the Agenda within the Platform requires Talks, in addition to Sessions. If your Agenda does not have Talks, the Platform will not track CPD based on only Session in the Agenda.

  • The Logo on CPD Certificates pulls from the Tenant (the Logo Image).

  • If you have set up CPD so that it is required that a delegate must complete a Survey to earn points, please note that simply completing the Survey is all that is required. We're unable to set it so the delegate has to provide particular answers within the Survey in order to be considered as complete.

  • The end date for the Event must be the same or after the end date of the CPD in order for it to calculate.

  • CPD units are calculated;

    • Once a day for Live Streams

    • Every 2 to 3 hours for VOD

  • This is what the CPD Certificate looks like:
