How To: Post Event Video Uploading

How To: Post Event Video Uploading

Overview

Once content has been prepared for Video on Demand, the final step is uploading and processing the content to make this available to Delegates.

Video on Demand content is a key aspect of the post-event engagement.

Video on Demand content can be linked to either Sessions or Talks and is available as an embedded video player in the Session/Talk page once it has been approved.

All VoD content is tracked for each minute a User watches the Video and is available in the Reporting tools.

Task

Upload content for Video on Demand.

Pre-requisites

  1. Created a Tenant
  2. Created an Event
  3. Completed a Talk (for Talk Video on Demand Content)
  4. Completed a Session (for Session Video on Demand Content)

Instructions

  1. Within the Admin Tools Dashboard, navigate to the “Agenda” module then “Sessions” or “Talks” (depending on whether you'd like to add the content to a Session or Talk) via the charcoal navigational bar on the left-hand side of the platform.
  2. Locate the Session/Talk you'd like to add the content to, then click the black “Actions” button and then the blue 'Edit” pencil in the dropdown to the far-right of the applicable Session/Talk.

If in a Session;

  1. Find 'Session Configuration' and under 'Video On Demand Publishing Approval', select 'Approved'.
  2. Scroll down to 'Session On Demand Content'.
  1. Under 'Video On Demand Video', enter the full URL (for example https://www.google.com) to be used for the VoD video, or click the 'Upload File' button to upload your own in mp4 or x-mpegurl format. Maximum file size is 100MB.
  2. Video on Demand Image
3. Scroll down to the bottom and click 'Submit'.

 If in a Talk;

  1. Find 'Talk On Demand Content'.
  2. Under 'Video On Demand Publishing Approval', select 'Approved'.
  1. Under 'Video On Demand Video', enter the full URL (for example https://www.google.com) to be used for the VoD video, or click the 'Upload File' button to upload your own in mp4 or x-mpegurl format. Maximum file size is 100MB.

  3. Video on Demand Publishing Override
  4. Ignore Webcast

Notes

It's important to note that, uploading the On Demand content will not change the "Watch Live" icon at the top of the page on the front end of the platform. You will need to go into Menus in and change this to "Watch On Demand", see "How To: Menus" for further instructions.

Depending on the file size you may experience a lengthy file upload time. The status will update to show the file name when the upload is successful.

If your internet connection is not fast enough, the upload will time out after 60 minutes.

Outcome

Once steps are complete, Video on Demand content will become available on the applicable Session/Talk page.
